Herb gardens can be colour as well as productive
Here we have a herb garden with rosemary in the foreground but also tansy and yellow flowered calendulas and a sprinkling of dark leaved basil. A good variety to chose would be ‘Dark Opal’. Sown in cell trays or small pots and place on a warm windowsill. Once the seedlings are established the young plants can be interspersed among other herbs as long as it is warm and there are not danger of frosts. Sprinkle a few seeds of calendulas in early spring to add a splash of yellow.
