This Winter we invite you to explore The Heligan Night Garden, a traditional Lantern Experience set amidst the atmospheric Lost Gardens.
Head down to The Lost Gardens of Heligan to experience the Gardens illuminated by hundreds of traditional lanterns and discover a breath-taking display of wildlife lanterns, illuminated in Heligan’s much-loved and iconic locations.
This year, The Lost Gardens are working with the Lantern Company, a leading UK outdoor arts organisation, which works locally, nationally and internationally, bringing artists and communities together to create spectacular illuminated installations, ranging from intimate encounters to large-scale mass participatory events.
The Lantern Company’s illuminated installation at Heligan holds up a nocturnal magnifying glass to the often overlooked wonders and beauty of the natural flora and fauna on our doorstep. From frogs to foxes, badgers to squirrels and hedgehogs and a joyful burst of snowdrops, this illuminated seasonal trail creates a treasure-filled space for families and friends to discover these beautiful indigenous species.
Following a one way journey around our accessible Gardens, our Heligan team will help direct you to discover nature in a celebration of the wildlife that make Heligan their home all year round. Explore at your own pace, stop to take in the smells of our fire pits, toast marshmallows and chestnuts, and enjoy seasonal warming take away refreshments amid a truly festive backdrop for your evening.
The route will take 1 hour approximately to complete and costs £10 per Adult, Children (over 5) £6 and Under 5’s Free.
The Heligan Shop will be open selling festive treats, local produce and a variety of beautiful gift ideas for the festive season, including a festive tasting counter! For these exclusive late night shopping evenings all visitors will receive a 10% discount on most products.

Tickets are non transferable and must be presented in email/ticket form at the point of entry. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a maximum of 6 tickets may be purchased per booking.
Pre booked tickets in advance is essential for all visitors, including for members and those who hold a locals pass.
Due to Sunday trading laws the shop will not be open during The Night Garden evenings held on 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th December.
Please arrive ONLY at your pre-booked Heligan entry time slot and not before, to ensure a safe evening is provided for all of our visitors.
Limited tickets available online in advance ONLY.
The Heligan Night Garden is an outside experience and so we suggest sturdy footwear, torches and appropriate dress for the Cornish weather. The route is suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
Dogs are not advised to attend The Heligan Night Garden.
