Malvern Plant and Garden Fair will go ahead on September 12 and 13 2020

Malvern Plant and Garden Fair 12-13 September 2020

The Malvern Plant and Garden Fair on 12-13 September 2020, is the first in new series of exciting open-air gardening events, launched by the Three Counties, to provide passionate plant lovers with a much-needed gardening fix!

After the disappointment of a spring and summer of corona-cancelled flower shows and gardening events, the 80 acre Three Counties Showground in Worcestershire, with its stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills, offers the perfect location for the new spacious, socially distanced, outdoor events.

The Malvern Plant and Garden Fair is perfectly timed for gardening’s peak planting season in Autumn and the event is offering a restricted number of ticket holders, the chance to meet and buy a fantastic selection of plants and bulbs, from some of the UK’s top nurseries and specialist growers.

The Fair’s floral focal point is the Plant Arena in the heart of the Showground, which will play host to 36 award-winning, specialist UK nurseries and growers* including  Fibrex Nurseries, Hare Spring Cottage Plants, Kitchen Garden Plants, Palm Exotics, Pheasant Acre Plants and Tynings Climbers.  Some of nurseries will be proudly exhibiting newly launched plants too including the award-winning bloomer – Anemone ‘Frilly Knickers’ from Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants.

In addition, those gardeners with thoughts of Spring, can choose from 14 nurseries in the Plant and Bulb Market including Hillyards Of Oundle, Rose Cottage Plants and Garth Cottage Herbs, Larchfield Trees and Freeman Plants.

Several of the nurseries are also offering a special click and collect service* where keen gardeners can pre order their favourite plants and bulbs, so they can then simply collect their order directly at the Fair, avoiding any delivery costs.

If it’s gardening advice and inspiration visitors require, they can head to the covered stage to choose from a selection of lively talks and demonstrations from gardening greats including BBC broadcaster and plant guru Carol Klein, Hereford and Worcester’s gardening expert Reg Moule, food writer and grower Mark Diacono and floral designer to the stars, Jonathan Moseley.

To complete a great day out, there is also plenty to explore in the numerous, spacious gardenalia and craft stands and a variety of eating options from a selection of outdoor food retailers. There will be well-spaced seating and picnic areas around the show ground to enable friends and family bubbles to relax and enjoy the stunning Malvern scenery.

The Malvern Plant and Garden Fair opens from 10am – 4 pm on the Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, but for those who just can’t wait, there is a strictly limited number of exclusive Early Arrival tickets for the Plant Arena, available to book in advance, allowing visitors into arrive from 8.30 am for a first chance to look and buy plants.

Commenting, Head of Shows, Di Walton said, “We were obviously deeply saddened at the cancellation of our Spring and Autumn Shows following the Covid-19 restrictions.  We have been working hard to provide an effective solution which meets the demands of these difficult times. We are therefore very excited to be launching this new series of Malvern Plant and Garden Fairs as it is hugely important to us to be able to support the UK nurseries, the exhibitors and our loyal visitors, who we see as part of our wider Three Counties Family.  We are delighted to be launching the first of these positive and uplifting events and we look forward to seeing everyone again at the Showground in September.”

As ticket numbers are restricted, Three Counties are advising advanced booking to avoid disappointment.
